bedroom if you've got a phone and an internet connection. One girl who's doing just that is our favourite beauty vlogger Scarlett Sparkes. Scarlett lives the life most 19-year-olds can only dream about; travelling the world, owning her own clothing line and is famous just for being herself.

M

ost teenagers are over the moon when they get an extra fiver in tips from their part-time waitressing jobs, but these days it's possible to make millions from the comfort of your own

However, that doesn't mean she hasn't worked hard for it; building a brand out of who you are is demanding, time-consuming and mentally and physically draining. Scarlett first started posting videos when she was just 16, but those videos were just fun and 'jokey' ones she would make with her friends at sleepovers.

But once she started getting into makeup, she decided to follow in the footsteps of her favourite youtubers NikkieTutorials and Bethany Mota. "I remember i would binge watch all their videos and just think to myself how much I would love to do that for a living". "It was the holidays and I had so much time on my hands, so I thought you know what let's just give it a try and so I posted an everyday look makeup tutorial". At first Abigail's videos did not get much more then 100 hundred views, but she finally went viral with her "Full face using only kids makeup challenge".

In case you somehow missed it, think of YouTube’s make up videos, but instead of using Sephora or Morphe makeup, Scarlett uses children's makeup.

But what does the social media star do when she takes a break from being one of the most influential women on the internet right now? We caught up with Scarlett to hear all about her secret life.

"It is strange that my job is basically sharing my life and what I do with others, yet I hardly feel like I show my real life at all" says Scarlett. "It is so weird to think I have 6 million people just watching me live my everyday life and being me but they only see small snippets of what my life is actually like". Between PR events and photoshoots, Scarlett explains she is just a normal teenage girl. She LOVES Timothee Chalamet ("I think it's his curly hair"), changes her style constantly ("I'm honestly so indecisive, some days I just want to dress basic and others I want to be as flamboyant as I can be") and has a minor infatuation with One Direction ("I've literally loved them since I was ten").

So aside from posting videos and taking her daily snapchat stories, what does she get up to? "Something I do a lot which I've never really talked about in interviews is meditate", Scarlett fills me in on how sometimes being a vlogger can get very overwhelming and mediating is the perfect way to calm herself and just relax. "I started mediating a couple months ago, as my friend suggested I try it out since my anxiety had got really bad. I didn't think it would work for me but it did and I feel so much more at peace from it". Now mediating is one of Scarlett favourite things and is her own personal outlet to just take a breather and chill, she says if she could give any advice to someone struggling with stress, it would be that mediating is the way to go!

"I also read a lot, like an abnormal amount". Scarlett twisted in her seat when I asked about if she ever reads in her free time, "Oh of course all the time!". She exclaims how she has loved reading all her life but only recently has she got back into it and finally left what she calls her 'readers block'. She tells me all about her favourite book at the moment 'Call me by your name', "It is so beautifully written and has well and truly lifted me from my no reading spell!". So if you are just like Scarlett are a read-oholic and are just looking for the perfect read, Call me by your name is the one for you.

"I want to open up more on my channel, like I see my fans as my friends and I want them to be included on this journey of mine. With all the good and the bad!". Scarlett informs me on how she wants to speak about her anxiety more, hoping she can help others who are also suffering. But it's not just her struggles she wants to open up about, it's the things she cares about most that she wants to - "As much as I love doing crazy makeup challenges, I want to show the other side of me when I am just having a laugh with my friends or chilling with my family". I think those video ideas are all something we would love to see!

Turns out, Scarlett does have something all the other normal girls don’t, and it comes across in her videos: She truly does not care whether or not she’s cool. Or whether people think her necklaces are cool or her turtleneck, her hair, her life, her opinions.

“I don’t take it too seriously,” Scarlett says. “Because I have one life. I’m not going to waste my time saying, ‘Take me seriously as a YouTuber!’ I don’t care? It’s like, watch my videos—if you hate it, go watch something else. Like, have fun, but I don’t care.”

"I am not sure what the future holds, but I am just so excited to where life goes"

And none of us can wait to see where Scarlett goes and her future videos to come, as we enjoy the deeply entertaining ride of Scarletts life! For even more intel on Scarlett Sparkes subscribe to Reverie magazine for the full article.
